4 South Tyroleans travel to the big ski final

The 2023/24 Ski World Cup season will soon be history. All that's missing is the final in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Four South Tyroleans will also be there.

Unlike usual, the World Cup final will be split over two weekends this year. It starts on Saturday and Sunday with the technical races for women and men. From a South Tyrolean perspective, this weekend will only be... Alex Vinatzer to be there. The man from Val Gardena is in the top 21 of the World Cup in both the slalom (12st) and the giant slalom (25th).

While everything has actually already been decided for the men, theoretically it's still about the giant slalom ball for the women this weekend. Lara-Gut-Behrami is 95 points ahead of Federica Brignone. However, the Italian's chances are almost only theoretical - just like those in the overall World Cup, in which Brignone is almost 300 points behind Gut-Behrami.

Debut for Max Perathoner

Next weekend it will be the turn of the speed specialists with a Super-G and a downhill. Nicol Delago As 16th in the Downhill World Cup, she is the only woman allowed to compete in Salzburger Land. dominik paris is allowed to compete in both disciplines, with the Ultner in third place in the Downhill World Cup. Florian Schieder would also have qualified, but has to sit out due to injury.

His debut in the World Cup will be Max Perathoner - as junior world champion in Super-G. The 21-year-old from Val Gardena won three medals at the title fights in Chatel, France this year and can therefore celebrate his premiere in the concert of the “big ones” next Friday. By the way: The final in Saalbach (Austria) is also the dress rehearsal for the World Cup there next year.
