Downhill classic at the end of the season

World Cup teams and amateur skiers will compete on the Schwarzhorn slope in the Jochgrimm ski area on Saturday, April 6th. The Auer Ski Club is organizing the 16th edition of the popular downhill classic between the Schwarzhorn and Weißhorn, the 2horn Downhill South Tyrol Cup.

“Even though spring is just around the corner, the Schwarzhorn piste is in excellent condition thanks to the recent snowfall on the mountain, so nothing should stand in the way of a top-class descent,” says Christian Haas, head of the organizing committee and president of the ski club Auer.

Defending men's champion is former ÖSV World Cup runner Norbert Holzknecht, while South Tyrol's downhill queen Nicol Delago won the women's event in 2023. A curious detail: Both Holzknecht and Delago achieved the best time of 45,66 seconds. Delago (113,924 km/h) and Holzknecht (112,150 km/h) won the speed measurement.

Own rating for top speed

This year there will once again be a separate classification for top speed; the winners of the “Porsche Speedcup” will each receive Porsche driving safety training on a race track.
The 2horn Downhill South Tyrol Cup starts on Saturday, April 6th at 9 a.m., helmets are mandatory for all participants. Enrollments and information at www.2horn.it
