Also in the Super-G: Double Paris in Kvitfjell

Dominik Paris followed up his downhill victory on Saturday with another win in Sunday's Super-G in Kvitfjell. It was his eighth victory in the Norwegian ski resort.

Following the spectacular women's Super-G, the men's race was also on the program at the season finale in Kvitfjell. Unlike the women's race, where Sofia Goggia only secured the small crystal globe on Sunday, the decision in the men's discipline ranking had already been made: Marco Odermatt was once again able to celebrate winning the trophy.

However, the day's victory went to Dominik Paris. The South Tyrolean narrowly prevailed on the soft Norwegian slope ahead of Vincent Kriechmayr (+0,07 seconds) and Raphael Haaser (+0,38), celebrating his eighth win in Kvitfjell. Giovanni Franzoni (+0,86) also impressed with a fifth-place finish, while Christof Innerhofer (+1,97/18th place) missed out on the top spots.

The season finale in Kvitfjell offered the speed specialists their last chance for success in the final fast race of the winter. Vincent Kriechmayr and Raphael Haaser initially set the fastest times on the soft snow, but then Dominik Paris came along and turned the standings upside down.

Paris like a house on fire

His run was anything but smooth or polished. Paris bumped and rumbled down the slope, but nevertheless maintained full power and didn't let the difficult conditions throw him off his rhythm. It was precisely this aggressive and daring line that ultimately made the difference. The South Tyrolean took 0,07 seconds off Kriechmayr's time and took the lead, a position no one else could subsequently overtake.

For Marco Odermatt, who started shortly after Paris, Kvitfjell once again proved to be a difficult place. Although the Swiss skier had already secured the Super-G globe, he was unable to achieve his first victory on the Norwegian course. He also finished outside the points for the first time this season (+1,97/19th place). Nevertheless, Odermatt could still celebrate another crystal globe, even though he was once again denied a truly grand finale in the speed events in Norway.
