At the ÖSV: Surprising return of ski mom

The last World Cup races of the season will take place in the next two weeks. This is where a return occurs that causes a stir.

It has now been exactly a year since the Austrian Tamara Tippler surprised the ski world. “I'm going to be a mom,” the speed specialist announced at the beginning of March 2023. The ski ace became a ski mom who gave birth to little Mia last September.

Will Tippler, who has reached the podium ten times in her career, return to the World Cup? This has been a recurring theme over the past few months. Tippler herself always left her return to the ski circus open. Now she is causing a stir with some news: the Austrian wants to take part in the World Cup finals in Saalbach-Hinterglemm – six months after giving birth – as a forerunner.

“I would like to be there as a forerunner because these are racing conditions,” says the 32-year-old laola1 quoted. “I do it very much depending on whether my career continues or not. You can easily say that on a racing track: Is this still something for me or if I don’t have the courage, I’m too far away that it no longer makes sense.”

So a comeback seems to be possible again. “The ambition is there, the motivation is there. Let’s see where the journey takes us,” young mom Tippler recently told ORF.
