Brignone torn between doubts and a holiday with ski friends

After her heroic performances at the Cortina d'Ampezzo Olympic Games, Federica Brignone's future is uncertain. The Italian skier is currently enjoying a holiday with two prominent female skiers.

Federica Brignone, Laura Pirovano, and Asja Zenere all celebrated unexpected successes last season. Brignone became a double Olympic champion in Cortina despite a severely injured left leg, Pirovano won the small crystal globe in downhill, and Zenere reached the World Cup podium for the first time. Before preparations for the new season really get underway for the trio, they recently spent time together in Sardinia.

Brignone posted pictures on social media showing her swimming in the sea, relaxing on a boat, and hiking along the coast. Brignone's brother Davide, who takes on the role of her closest confidant and coach during the winter, is also pictured. However, on Friday, Brignone was already back to working out in the gym.

Will she come back again?

The soon-to-be 36-year-old had cut last winter short due to severe pain, but announced her intention to continue her career for at least another season. As she stated earlier this week... The print She explained that she would return to snow at the beginning of August. "Only then will I know if it makes sense to go to Argentina for preparation."

She also spoke of difficult moments in her daily life, as she still cannot walk. "Yes, I'm still in pain every day, and I realize that due to the severity of the injury, I won't be the same as before, but I accept that and don't feel sorry for myself. We all face challenges, and perhaps the toughest ones are reserved for the toughest people," Brignone said.

Whether she will actually return to the ski circuit is uncertain. "I will only start the season if I can complete the entire season – and not just one month like last winter," she explained. Brignone's goal is the World Ski Championships in Crans-Montana, where she has already stood on the World Cup podium nine times and secured four victories.
