On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, two downhill races and one Super-G will take place in the Swiss winter sports resort. The first training session already took place on Wednesday. Following this, Nicol Delago, Sofia Goggia & Co. paid their respects to the Italian youths and all other victims who lost their lives in the fire disaster a month ago.
According to reports, the athletes, led by head coach Gianluca Rulfi, laid a bouquet of flowers and observed a minute of silence in front of the Le Constellation bar at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The video is available here (source: FISI):
The racers will return to the course on Thursday for the second training run, starting at 11 a.m. However, the weather could become even more critical for Friday's downhill race than it was on Wednesday – with the start line potentially being moved to the same level as the Super-G due to strong winds at altitude, possibly even during the second training run.
