The skiing world is looking forward to this comeback: Marcel Hirscher will be competing again next season. Now he wants to announce further details.

Marcel Hirscher has already planned the next steps of his comeback. Next week, on July 24, the multiple Olympic and World Ski Champion will reveal more details at a press conference in Zoetermeer in the Netherlands.


Relevant reports in daily newspapers Austria and Salzburger Nachrichten Hirscher's management essentially confirmed on Wednesday that the final details still need to be clarified.

Off to New Zealand

The southern Dutch municipality of Zoetermeer lies three metres below sea level and claims to be home to the steepest indoor ski slope in Europe.

Hirscher, who will compete for the Netherlands in the future, and his team will be heading far away from Europe in August: the 35-year-old wants to first go to New Zealand to hunt for the FIS points he needs to be eligible to compete in the World Cup again. Two giant slaloms and two slaloms will take place in Coronet Peak from August 15 to 19.
