The ski world rejoices: World Cup ace celebrates wedding

Even outside the season, many winter sports athletes celebrate highlights. The wedding of a multiple World Cup winner recently delighted the ski world.

Wedding bells are ringing – and Filip Zubcic and his Ana can hardly believe their luck. On Saturday afternoon, the Croatian tech specialist posted numerous photos on Instagram showing the newlyweds at their wedding. The obligatory selfie with the ring on his finger was, of course, included.

In July 2025, Zubcic proposed to his long-time partner, and ten months later the two finally tied the knot – delighting the skiing world in the process. Whether it was Peter Fill, Atle Lie McGrath, Luca De Aliprandini, Loic Meillard, Leona Popovic, or Ivica Kostelic: congratulations in the comments below the post were certainly plentiful.

This highlight of his life is likely helping Zubcic to focus on the future as an athlete. Last season, the 2021 parallel world championship runner-up and three-time World Cup winner was plagued by bad luck, finishing in the top 10 only twice. At least he managed a podium finish (3rd) in Copper Mountain. Otherwise, the 33-year-old had to endure numerous setbacks. This coming winter, he'll be competing with a new brand: after parting ways with his equipment supplier Atomic, Zubcic has opted for a partnership with Nordica.
