Tuesday is travel day: Ski stars arrive in Bormio

Even before the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina are officially opened, the first South Tyrolean winter athletes will be hitting the Olympic waters. The first downhill training run is scheduled for Wednesday.

Tuesday is the big travel day for the speed specialists. Because the first training run is scheduled for Wednesday in Bormio, the downhill skiers are arriving a day earlier. However, according to current weather forecasts, it's rather unlikely that race-like training will take place on Wednesday. Light snowfall is predicted in Bormio.

Either way, Dominik Paris and his teammates will arrive on Tuesday in the town of 4.000 inhabitants in the province of Sondrio. Beforehand, the man from Ultental and his teammates had a short break at home with family and friends after the race in Crans Montana.

If training cannot take place in Bormio on Wednesday, it will continue on Thursday. The race will then be held on Saturday (11:30 a.m.). The weather forecast is excellent: sunny, but cold.
