Elisa Platino is competing in Are.

These Azzurre are contesting the World Cup final

Before this year's World Cup season ends in Saalbach, the World Cup will stop in Are, Sweden, this weekend. Two South Tyroleans are also there.

After the Norwegian weekend in Kvitfjell, where Federica Brignone won the Super-G, the Women's World Cup is moving to Are this weekend. The program includes both a giant slalom and a slalom.

The technical director Gianluca Rulfi has called up Federica Brignone, Marta Bassino, Roberta Melesi, Asja Zenere, Lara Della Mea, Martina Peterlini, Marta Rossetti, Lucrezia Lorenzi and the two South Tyroleans Vera Tschurtschenthaler and Elisa Platino. To date, the Azzurre have only been able to celebrate one success in Are. In 2018, Sofia Goggia won the Super-G.

The following Azzurre are already there in Saalbach

The World Cup weekend in Are determines which Azzurre will take part in the World Cup final in Saalbach. The regulations stipulate that in addition to the best 25 from each discipline, athletes with more than 500 points in the overall ranking and the junior world champions from each discipline also compete in Saalbach.

A total of six Italians have already qualified: Federica Brignone, Marta Bassino, Martina Peterlini, Laura Pirovano, Roberta Melesi and Nicol Delago. Sofia Goggia, however, will not be there due to injury. Elena Platino is currently in 27th place in the giant slalom rankings and needs to collect important points in Are.
