Dominik Paris: “Goals are always the same”

It's summer: the sun is shining (most of the time anyway), temperatures are rising - and winter sports are on hold. But not for the athletes themselves: they are in the middle of preparing for the season. This includes Dominik Paris from Ulten.

Dominik Paris without a ski suit – it's almost impossible to imagine. The Ultner is in the middle of his preparations. But he has also treated himself to a few days and weeks of vacation. "I've stayed away from the skis for a while," admits Paris. "But now I'm back in the middle of preparing for the season."

At the moment, the main focus is on training in the gym, and in August he'll be back on the skis - not here, but in South America. "The goals always remain the same. Last season was a very good one for me. I was finally able to achieve great results again. But now it's all about continuing to improve and building on the previous season," says Paris, looking ahead to the new winter season.

“Physical complaints possible”

Nevertheless, according to Paris, there are also uncertainties. "In my head, I definitely still want to be at the top. But you never know if something else might happen. Because of my age, physical problems can also arise," says the 35-year-old. And the young athletes also want to achieve good results, which is why it is not getting any easier for the older ones. "But as long as you stay mentally strong and motivated, you can achieve great things," concludes Paris.
