An Austrian slalom specialist who made a big splash last season is also on cloud nine in her private life.

The saying usually goes: "Lucky in love, unlucky at cards"—or vice versa. In Katharina Truppe's case, it's a little different. The Austrian slalom specialist is experiencing one of the most successful phases of her career and is also on cloud nine in her personal life.

On Instagram, Truppe posted a photo of herself looking very much in love. The 30-year-old Austrian is giving her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek. "You and me," the slalom specialist captioned the photo. Truppe and Matthias have been together for about a year, and the couple is blissfully happy. Whether enjoying romantic sunsets in the mountains or relaxing together on the sea, Katharina and Matthias are currently making the most of their time together, as is evident on their Instagram posts.

So, things are going perfectly for Truppe in her personal life, and even more so in her sport. Her record last winter is impressive. She only finished 16th in the first slalom of the season in Levi; after that, Truppe never finished lower than seventh. She made it onto the podium once, namely in the Flachau slalom at the beginning of January. At the Olympics, the 197-time World Cup starter narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fifth in both the slalom and the team combined.
