An Austrian woman leaves everyone else in Soldeu

The Olympic Games are over, and now the World Cup is starting again. The women are facing a speed weekend, with Austrian Nina Ortlieb putting on a strong performance in the second training run.

The 29-year-old, who has suffered so many injury-related setbacks in the past, set the fastest time and distanced the competition by a considerable margin. Corinne Suter was already 0,76 seconds behind in second place, while Sofia Goggia, in third, was 0,82 seconds back.

Brignone will not start

Nicol Delago from Val Gardena finished the training run in 17th place (+1,79 seconds), with her younger sister Nadia three places behind (+1,81 seconds). Sara Thaler finished in 52nd place. Federica Brignone did not start on Thursday.

The downhill race takes place in Soldeu on Friday (11 a.m.), while Super-G races are scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
