European Cup: Azzurra dominates in Norway

A women's European Cup giant slalom took place in Ål, Norway on Sunday. One Azzurra in particular was particularly pleased.

The European Cup giant slalom in Ål (Norway) saw a new winner on Sunday. Ilaria Ghisalberti from Zogno in Lombardy dominated both the first and second runs and won her first ever European Cup race by a margin of 0,71 seconds. The 23-year-old has competed in the World Cup ten times in her career to date and otherwise mostly competes in the European Cup. There she had her first great sense of success, also because Ghisalberti had never been on the podium before.

Second place went to Junde Brand from France (+0,71), while local hero Marte Monsen (+1,41) completed the podium. With Alessia Guerinone, another Azzurra landed in the top 10 (10th place/+2,48).
