European Cup: Azzurro Saccardi reaches the podium in Spain

Italian Tommaso Saccardi reached the podium at the European Cup slalom in Baqueira-Beret (ESP). Simon Maurberger, however, had a less successful race.

Maurberger finished 22nd in the first of two slalom races in Baqueira-Beret. The Ahrntal native was thus the fourth-best Italian in the standings. Corrado Barbera (16th) and Stefano Pizzato (17th) finished ahead of Maurberger.

The best performer was Tommaso Saccardi, who finished in second place. With a gap of 18 hundredths of a second to Frenchman Hugo Desgrippes, the Italian also earned valuable FIS points for the World Cup standings. Jakob Greber (AUT) completed the podium in third place.
