At the first European Cup downhill at Pass Thurn there was a South Tyrolean podium place.

In the first of two downhill races in the Kitzbühel Alps, Max Perathoner finished third. The Val Gardena native was only beaten by the two Swiss Alessio Miggiano and Gael Zulauf. Perathoner was 85 hundredths behind at the finish.

For Perathoner, it is the second European Cup podium this winter after second place in Santa Caterina. This year, the 21-year-old has already competed in two Super-Gs in the World Cup, but never finished.
