Golden end to a fabulous season

For Anna Trocker, the last few months have been like a dream. To cap off her sporting journey, the 17-year-old from South Tyrol secured the Italian championship title in giant slalom.

Debut in the Ski World Cup, Olympic Games, Junior World Champion and a top-10 result at the World Cup final in Norway: Anna Trocker has experienced the world's elite in skiing in a whirlwind tour over the last few months.

On Wednesday, the skier from Völs secured the gold medal at the Italian Giant Slalom Championships in Sestriere. Trocker prevailed against Ilaria Ghisalberti (+0,17 seconds) and Elisa Platino (+0,47). For the Merano native, a difficult season thus also ended with a success. Laura Steinmair from Gais narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth.

The men's giant slalom race will take place in Sestriere on Thursday, before the two slalom competitions conclude the event on Good Friday.
