Gondolas unveiled: French Day in Kitzbühel

A summer on the Streif? For Cyprien Sarrazin, Clement Noel and Johan Clarey, Friday was probably an unusual sight. After all, the three French ski stars normally only know Kitzbühel in winter mode.

Sarrazin, Noel and Clarey are among the best skiers in the world. The three Frenchmen have (almost) only good memories of Kitzbühel. Above all Sarrazin, who celebrated a double victory on the Streif this year. "My life has changed completely since then - for the better," laughs the shooting star of the downhill race last season. As an additional reward, they received their own gondola on Friday, which will now do its rounds in Kitzbühel.

Noel's gondola has been running for 5 years, but the 2019 slalom winner was only able to receive it in person now. "When I won back then, I thought to myself: I want to experience that again," says Noel, who can still remember the day of the triumph exactly.

Clarey, the third Frenchman in the group, was never at the top in Kitzbühel. However, he reached the podium five times, which is why a special gondola was dedicated to him. The former downhill skier, who now works as a TV expert for French television, received a gondola because of his "extraordinary consistency in Kitzbühel".
