Haugan leads in a tight Kitz slalom

A Norwegian is in the lead after the first run of the slalom in Kitzbühel. However, it is not Henrik Kristoffersen, but his compatriot Timon Haugan. The time gaps are very close, however, and the final (starting at 1:13.30 p.m.) is sure to be exciting.

Haugan started the race with starting number 1 and conjured up a time on the Ganslernhang that no one could beat. The closest was Norwegian Steven Amiez from France, who came within 7 hundredths of Haugan.

Lucas Braathen, Haugan's former team-mate, put in a strong performance. Braathen, who is competing for Brazil, was the fastest in the upper part of the course before losing a few hundredths of a second at the bottom. Braathen is in third place, 0,25 seconds behind. However, this does not mean that the second run will be a "slow ride". Clement Noel (3th/+2), Tanguy Nef (4th/+0,30) and Marco Schwarz (5th/+0,49) are lying in wait.

And what about Kristoffersen? The superstar from Norway is no longer in the final. For Kristoffersen, the race was over after just a few seconds and he was eliminated.

Vinatzer in midfield, Kastlunger weak

But it's not just Noel & Co. who are waiting in the wings, but also Alex Vinatzer. The Val Gardena native couldn't keep up with the top guys, but is only 6 tenths of a second behind the podium. With a great run in the final, he can make up that. Tobias Kastlunger, on the other hand, didn't get going at all. He lost almost 3 seconds to Haugan.
