Humorous photo: Skiing lovebirds vacationing in South Tyrol

The World Cup stars want to enjoy their time away from the icy slopes: A prominent ski couple from Norway did so at Langkofel.

The ski stars know the Alps like the back of their hand – at least when their peaks and slopes are covered in snow during the winter months. Thea Louise Stjernesund and Timon Haugan, Since spring, they are officially the new dream couple in alpine skiing.They therefore set off on a joint exploration tour to experience the mountains in their summer splendor. Their journey also took them to South Tyrol.

Stjernesund captured the breathtaking scenery of the Alps with her camera, including a trip to the Langkofel mountain. In the accompanying photo, the 29-year-old, who won the silver medal in giant slalom at the 2026 Olympic Games, offered a humorous – and perhaps also honest – glimpse into her day of hiking. The Norwegian was seen lying on a bench, visibly exhausted, resting.

South Tyrol, Japan, World Cup hype: A summer with many facets

However, South Tyrol was not the only stop on the lovebirds' holiday. Back in May and June, Stjernesund and Haugan got to know Japanese culture during an extensive trip, and in addition, they cheered on the Norwegian national football team back home, which reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the USA.

Gradually, the ski elite are returning to their daily routine on the slopes. The new season opens in Sölden on October 24th and 25th. Before that, a demanding training program is on the agenda. So it shouldn't be too long before Stjernesund and Haugan are posting pictures of ice, snow, and skis.
