Crans-Montana remains in shock. Even a month after the devastating fire in a bar, the Swiss ski resort is still in mourning. The World Cup races will still take place, albeit in a scaled-down form regarding the supporting program.
A downhill training run was on the schedule for Wednesday. In the end, Nina Ortlieb was the fastest. The Austrian was 10 hundredths of a second quicker than her compatriot Arianne Rädler. Third-placed German Kira Weidle-Winkelmann (+0,56) was already more than half a second behind. Unlike Emma Aicher (4th), Ester Ledecka (6th), and Laura Gauche (8th), the top three finishers completed the training run correctly.

Nicol Delago (+0,93), who recorded the sixth-fastest time, also didn't pass all the gates correctly. The other Azzurre training results were: Laura Pirovano (16th), Sofia Goggia (17th), Nadia Delago (20th), Elena Curtoni (28th), Federica Brignone (33rd), Asja Zenere (41st), and Roberta Melesi (42nd).
Another training session will take place in Crans-Montana on Thursday, before the long race weekend begins on Friday with a downhill race (10 a.m.).
