“At rocket speed”: A ski baby is flying in.

During the summer break, a ski star received a special surprise: the baby stork paid a visit.

The saying "unlucky in cards, lucky in love" is often applied in the world of sports. But rarely is it as fitting as in Kristoffer Jakobsen's situation. The Swedish slalom specialist has had a season to forget – but that's completely irrelevant at this moment. He has become a father for the second time.

“The little brother arrived at rocket speed,” Jakobsen wrote on Instagram, adding: “We are all doing well and enjoying being a family of four now.” Jakobsen, his partner Erica, and little Ted (who was born in January 2025) are delighted with the new arrival.

Will the Swedish ski star be inspired by the joy of his new baby? Last winter, Jakobsen certainly had a disastrous season. In eleven races – including the Olympic slalom in Bormio – the 31-year-old achieved only one result, namely 13th place in Kitzbühel. The four-time podium finisher was eliminated eight times and failed to qualify for the second run twice more.

Following the news of the baby's arrival, the ski world is certainly celebrating with Jakobsen. Among others, Tonje Kristoffersen (Henrik Kristoffersen's wife), Timon Haugan, and Maria Pietilä Holmner offered their congratulations.
