Sara Allemand secured her first victory.

Italian premiere victory in the European Cup

The women's European Cup downhill race in Pass Thurn (Austria) saw an Italian victory for the first time.

Sara Allemand secured her first victory in the second-highest alpine skiing race series on Wednesday. The 25-year-old finished ahead of the two Austrians, Anna Schilcher and Leonie Zegg. Sara Thaler from Val Gardena narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth. Vicky Bernardi had to settle for 20th place.


The men competed in a European Cup slalom on Wednesday in Crans-Montana. Italian Tommaso Saccardi finished third, Matteo Canins eighth, and Frenchman Antoine Azzolin took the victory.
