Italian victory and Maurberger's farewell

The 2025/26 European Cup season concluded in Schladming on Wednesday with two slalom races. An Italian skier took the victory.

Giulia Valleriani secured her second European Cup victory. The 21-year-old from the Lazio region was almost a second faster than Austria's Natalie Falch. Valleriani is considered a great slalom prospect in Italy and has already finished in the points twice this year in the World Cup. South Tyrolean skiers Celina Haller and Laura Steinmair finished in 13th and 17th place, respectively.

In the men's race, the experienced Swiss skier Ramon Zenhäusern triumphed. The best South Tyrolean was Matteo Canins from Val Badia, finishing seventh. Simon Maurberger, who will end his career at the end of the season, finished eleventh in his last European Cup race. The Ahrntal native is thus ending his career virtually where he achieved his best World Cup result: six years ago, he finished fifth in Schladming.
