Almost at the end of the Olympic Games, an Italian ski hero was able to enjoy a very special highlight that had absolutely nothing to do with skiing.

The Olympic Games have been the dominant topic of conversation in the sports world for the past three weeks. Italy's athletes have excelled, bringing home no fewer than 30 medals. However, one taboo remained unbroken.
There were no Olympic gold medals in men's skiing. This means Giuliano Razzoli remains the last Italian to win gold. In 2010, the now-retired skier sensationally raced to his greatest victory in the Vancouver slalom. Although "greatest victory" is a relative term: the 41-year-old recently became a father for the second time.
Little Riccardo is the newest member of the family.
On February 20th, two days before the end of the Olympic Games, their son Riccardo was born. "Few words, but so much love," Razzoli wrote in his Instagram post. His wife Elisa thus gave birth to their second son together, as the couple had already welcomed little Emanuele in March 2024.Incidentally, just a few weeks before Emanuele's birth, his father Giuliano ended his skiing career. A career that earned Razzoli hero status. In 157 World Cup races, he reached the podium eleven times, but his greatest success came at the 2010 Olympics, when he won gold.
