Giovanni Franzoni and Dominik Paris form the elite Italian men's team. While the 37-year-old Paris has always been among the world's best and celebrated his first World Cup victory back in 2012 in Bormio, Franzoni is a newcomer. Before last winter, the now 25-year-old had never stood on a World Cup podium. Franzoni can now boast, among other achievements, Kitzbühel champion and Olympic silver medalist.
The fact that Peter Fill is no longer listed as a coach is surprising. The Kastelruth native was most recently responsible for the Azzurri's giant slalom team. Fill worked as national coach for the past six years and had also worked extensively with Franzoni. Despite numerous rumors, Massimo "Max" Carca remains Italy's men's head coach.

The speed team includes three South Tyroleans: Christof Innerhofer, Max Perathoner, and Florian Schieder. The same is true for the technical team: Alex Vinatzer, Tobias Kastlunger, and Matteo Canins. The European Cup team comprises four South Tyroleans: Max Clara and Emanuel Lamp in the speed disciplines, and Jakob Franzelin and David Castlunger in the technical disciplines.
