Italy's young speed skiers impress in the European Cup

An Italian woman stood on the top step of the podium at the European Cup race in St. Anton am Arlberg (AUT) on Monday. For Sara Allemand, it was her second European Cup victory in just a few days.

Sara Allemand is in top form. The 25-year-old Italian won the Super-G in St. Anton am Arlberg on Monday. It was her second European Cup victory, following her Super-G win in Pass Thurn the previous Wednesday.


Behind Allemand, Marte Monsen (NOR/+0,27) and Lena Wechner (AUT/+0,35) finished on the podium. The best South Tyrolean was Vicky Bernardi in 21st place.

Pass Thurn: Abbruzzese on the podium

The men were also competing on Monday in Pass Thurn (AUT). A downhill race was on the program. Frenchman Ken Caillot won, ahead of Swiss skier Lenz Hächler (+0,52). There was also a success for the Italians, as Marco Abbruzzese finished third (+0,66), also securing a place in the top three.

The results of the best South Tyroleans: Max Perathoner finished in 16th place (+1,46), Emanuel Lamp came in 21st (+1,68).
