Now it's time to get married: Swiss ski ace in love

After his big season highlight, a Swiss ski ace has revealed his wedding plans.

With the national championships in recent days, the 2024/25 ski season finally came to a close. And Swiss skier Livio Simonet gave himself another wonderful present. Before he turns his attention to the new season, Simonet has a special event coming up. He will soon be getting married. "My fiancée is here today; I was able to hug her in the finish area," he told reporters after his giant slalom title. Blick.ch. "We're getting married in the spring," says Simonet, who is now looking forward to the special day with his wife Melanie. She regularly accompanies him to races, most recently at Hafjell, Norway.

He has already won a World Cup race

Livio Simonet has already won a World Cup race once in his career. He stormed to first place with the Swiss team at the 2022 World Cup finals in Courchevel. The 1-year-old has competed in 26 World Cup races to date, as well as 31 European Cup appearances, where he celebrated two giant slalom victories. Both in Zinal, where he became Swiss champion a few days ago.
