Curious ex-aequo victory on the 2Horn downhill

The 15th edition of the downhill classic for everyone at the end of the season on the Schwarzhorn slope in the Jochgrimm ski area will undoubtedly go down in history. For the first time, the women and men share the best time. Nicol Delago (Gröden) and Norbert Holzknecht (Grinzens/North Tyrol) were exactly the same speed in a time of 45,66 seconds.

In the speed measurement, the South Tyrolean speed queen was even a touch faster at 113,924 km/h than the former downhill specialist of the Austrian Ski Association at 112,150 km/h. World Cup runner Karoline Pichler (Petersberg) came fifth in 50,34 seconds, her former teammate Verena Stuffer (Gröden) came second in her category in 49,29 seconds. A side detail: Nicol Delago's father, Norbert, won that Race in its category in 2 seconds.

In the men's race, Norbert Holzknecht (46) defended his victory from last year and celebrated his 7th victory in total at the 2horn Downhill South Tyrol Cup. South Tyrol's ski legend Werner Heel (Walten) had to settle for second place in 46.56 seconds.

A Porsche weekend awaits The speed rating and thus a weekend in a Porsche were secured by Nicol Delago with the absolute top speed of 113,924 km/h and Norbert Holzknecht (112,150 km/h).

In the team ranking, the Turboschneggelen (South Tyrol Alpine Ski Squad) with Sara Thaler, Felix Braun, Francesco Zucchini, Emanuel Lamp and Hannes Schranzhofer beat the Siebert Racing Team (Marie-Theres Schöpf, Norbert Holzknecht, Stefan Siebert, Thomas Gruschi and Helmut Lechner) in 3.57,83:3.59,48 minutes. Third place went to the OneMore team in 3:4.01,56 minutes with Nicole Delago, Norbert Delago, Dietmar Insam, Elmar Stimpfl and Simon Valentini.
