"A new chapter begins – with love, chaos, and a whole lot of heart": With these sweet words, former Austrian ski racer Hannah Köck announced her joy as a baby. The 30-year-old, who has been in ski retirement for five years, gave birth to her first child in the past few days.
"Mission: Home – successfully completed. After eight days in the hospital, countless diapers, attempts at breastfeeding, cuddles (and a little emotional rollercoaster ride), the three of us are now on our way home," wrote the former slalom specialist, who competed in the World Cup 15 times during her career.
In her post, Köck also describes the thoughts the new parents now have to deal with. "Our boy sits proudly in his car seat as if he'd never done anything else – we, on the other hand, are buckling up for the third time, checking the cover 27 times, and quickly Googling again: How do you drive a car with a baby?!"
Köck has completed 15 World Cup races in her career.
Now, a new chapter awaits the former World Cup skier. Köck has long since put her career as a skier on hold. After retiring in 2020, she embarked on a new life and has since managed her own fitness studio. Now, a lot of baby time awaits.
