Mikaela Shiffrin a class better

The first run of the new slalom season took place on Saturday morning. Mikaela Shiffrin made a clear impression right away.

With starting number 8, Shiffrin smashed the best time of the previously leading Lena Dürr by six tenths of a second. The German is currently in second place, 13 hundredths ahead of the young Croatian Zrinka Ljutic. Fourth is the Austrian Katharina Liensberger. Shiffrin's teammate Paula Moltzan also put in a strong performance, placing fifth with number 15.

Despite difficult visibility and light drizzle, Shiffrin kept her eyes open in Levi. The American is on her way to her 98th World Cup victory in the far north. The best Azzurra is currently Martina Peterlini in 16th place. The only South Tyrolean, Vera Tschurtschenthaler (52nd), was unable to qualify for the second run with start number 45 due to heavy snowfall. The final in Levi will then begin at 13 p.m. (live on SportNews-Ticker).
