With famous friend: Ski ace enjoys romantic vacation

Thousands of kilometers from home, a Swiss skier is enjoying her vacation after a strong season. Along for the ride: her celebrity boyfriend.

Blazing sun, picturesque palm trees, endless dream beaches: Yes, it's a true dream vacation that Vanessa Kasper is enjoying. "Salty hair, jungle vibes, and island mist," the 28-year-old Swiss skier wrote on Instagram. After her best season, Kasper has headed to the Indian Ocean, specifically the Seychelles, where she's enjoying a well-deserved vacation with her boyfriend.

Her boyfriend, by the way, is no ordinary person: Yannick-Lennart Albrecht is a well-known ice hockey player who has been playing in Switzerland's top league for years, has played more than 500 games, and has even lifted the championship trophy. The former Swiss national player currently plays for the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.

The skier and the ice hockey star have been a couple for five years. It wasn't love at first sight, as they once revealed in an interview. "We met in 2018, but it took until 2020 before we got together," Kasper told the Swiss Look. And she adds: “He is my calming influence.”

Mutual support

The two support each other not only in life but also in their respective careers. Vanessa Kasper, by the way, is on a high in her sporting career. Last season, the skier performed particularly well in the European Cup, finishing second in the giant slalom final. She also crowned herself Swiss giant slalom champion.

Kasper has competed in the World Cup 35 times so far, and last winter she achieved her second-best career result with 18th place in Sestriere. Now the Swiss skier wants to continue making waves – thanks in part to the renewed strength she gained from her dream vacation in the Seychelles.
