With her boyfriend: Former ski star conquers the end of the world

She is an icon of skiing, now Maria Riesch is enjoying her life – and has had a special experience with her new love.

During her career as a ski racer, Maria Riesch traveled the world winter after winter. This passion has remained a constant thread throughout her life, even after the end of her impressive career. And so, the 41-year-old has now even conquered the ends of the earth – alongside her new love, it should be noted.

She travelled to the far north – specifically to the North Cape – on a cruise ship where her boyfriend Johann Schrempf works as general manager. This iconic rocky plateau at the northern tip of Norway is considered by many to be the "end of the world" and was Riesch's destination.

The parents were also present.

For Riesch, it was a special outing: Besides her boyfriend Schrempf, with whom she has been in a relationship for over a year, her parents Monika and Siegfried were also there. An Instagram story shows the four of them in front of a famous viewpoint.

Riesch was very enthusiastic

Riesch expressed her enthusiasm for her trip to the ends of the earth on Instagram. "From mid-May to the end of July, the sun never sets here," rejoiced the former star skier, a legend in German sports with three Olympic gold medals. This excursion to the far north is not entirely typical for Riesch, who usually prefers warmer climes.
