After criticism and accusations: ÖSV confirms Assinger

Roland Assinger remains head coach of Austria's women's alpine ski team. Recently, there was much controversy surrounding the Carinthian's leadership style, which in turn drew criticism from other quarters.

Assinger (the brother of Armin Assinger) has recently faced considerable criticism. Among others, Super-G World Champion Stephanie Venier denounced the tone of the conversation. At the same time, however, there were also opposing reactions from female skiers. Now the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV), which had been closely monitoring the case in recent weeks, has spoken out.

The Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) confirmed Assinger as head coach of the women's team on Wednesday. During a press conference in Innsbruck – on the occasion of the presentation of Christian Mitter as the new Alpine Sports Director – Assinger was given the nod for the upcoming 2025/26 World Cup and Olympic season.

Whether the background noise has ended is another matter. Venier recently even ended his career not excluded.
