After painful ski separation: New chapter begins

She is one of the most prominent skiers in the World Cup, and now a new chapter begins for Marta Bassino.

For more than 20 years, Marta Bassino hit the slopes with Salomon skis. Not only did she take her first steps into the world of skiing with this brand, but she also celebrated her greatest successes. Two-time world champion, winner of the small giant slalom crystal globe, 30 World Cup podium finishes—an outstanding record.

But this chapter ended for Marta Bassino this summer. After a disappointing season without a podium finish, the Italian ended her collaboration with Salomon. "All the successes I've achieved so far have been with Salomon, and I will always be grateful for that. Salomon will always hold a special place in my heart," Bassino said of the painful separation. Now it's clear which brand the 29-year-old from Cuneo will compete with in the future: She's switching to Head.

"A new chapter begins," Bassino wrote on Instagram, showing off her new skis. "We are very proud to welcome Marta to our team. She perfectly embodies the Head values: passion, courage, and the will to push one's limits," said Corrado Maccio, Managing Director of Head Italia. At Head, Bassino will be joining numerous superstars, including Lara Gut-Behrami and Cornelia Hütter.
