Nadia Delago is cautiously approaching the Fassa Valley

The women's speed races will take place in the Val di Fassa this weekend. The first training session on Wednesday saw many shortcuts, but also positive signs from the South Tyrolean women.

A first test run on the course in the Val di Fassa, where the women's downhill race will take place on Saturday. That was all there was to it on Wednesday, as numerous top athletes cut their runs short – or exercised great caution on tricky sections. Therefore, the training run, in which Ilka Stuhec was fastest despite missing a gate, doesn't provide much insight.

There were still positive signs for Nadia Delago. The Val Gardena native was the best Italian in fifth place and completed the run without missing a single gate. Delago was 70 hundredths of a second slower than Stuhec, behind whom Romane Miradoli (FRA/+0,17) and Breezy Johnson (USA/+0,34) took the next places.
