Nadia Delago and the Azzurri shine in the European Cup

From a sporting perspective, Nadia Delago has had two disappointing years. The Val Gardena native has now struck again at the European Cup final in Kvitfjell.

After your Downhill victory the day before, Delago finished third in the Super-G on Friday. This time at the top was the Frenchwoman Tifany Roux, who beat Austria's speed talent Magdalena Egger by 46 hundredths. Delago was almost half a second behind at the finish (+0,49).

Vicky Bernardi, another South Tyrolean, ended up in the top ten. The young woman from Val Badia took 7th place and thereby secured a permanent starting place for the coming World Cup season. The other Val Gardena women Sara Thaler and Teresa Runggaldier, however, did not collect any points. While Thaler was eliminated, Runggaldier did not start.

Italian victory

The Italian Nicoló Molteni took victory in the men's European Cup Super-G in Kvitfjell, which took place afterwards. The 27-year-old was as fast as the German Jakob Schramm. Young star Giovanni Franzoni took 7rd place with a measly gap of 3 hundredths.

Maximilian Ranzi from Lana achieved his best European Cup result with 11th place. Otherwise no South Tyrolean took part. The 2023/24 European Cup season is now over.

Ms. Bernardi is 3rd in the SG ranking, she almost out-checked Ms. Delago, so Bernardi can start in the WC
