The second Super-G race at the Ski World Cup in Courchevel has also been cancelled due to weather conditions. For Marco Odermatt, this means he can take the Super-G globe home without much difficulty.

The cancellation of the race scheduled for Sunday gave Swiss skier Marco Odermatt the World Cup discipline title for this winter and thus his next small crystal globe.

Due to heavy snowfall, safety on the slopes could not be guaranteed, the International Ski Federation (FIS) announced this morning. Saturday's Super-G race had already been cancelled due to snow and fog. The FIS also stated that the races in France will not be rescheduled.

Third crystal for Odermatt

With only one Super-G remaining at the season finale in Norway next weekend, Odermatt can no longer be overtaken for the top spot. The 28-year-old had already secured the overall World Cup title and the downhill championship this season. Behind Odermatt, who has won two races, Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr still had a slim chance of taking the small crystal globe.
