Olympic euphoria in Paris: "Great motivation for Bormio"

Dominik Paris secured his second podium finish of the season on Sunday in Crans Montana (SUI). The next downhill race is already the Olympic event in Bormio – and that has the Ultental downhill star brimming with excitement.

Bormio and dominik parisThat's perfect. The Stelvio is – along with Kitzbühel – one of the South Tyrolean's favorite slopes. He has won the downhill in Bormio six times, and the Super-G once. The Olympic downhill race on the Stelvio will take place on Saturday, February 7th, starting at 11:30 a.m.


On Sunday, Paris boosted her confidence considerably in Crans Montana. Second behind Franjo von Allmen The Ultental native was able to celebrate his second podium finish of the season, following his victory in Val Gardena. "An excellent result that gives me a lot of motivation," Paris analyzed. "I didn't have a perfect race, but I was still better than many others. That gives me confidence. I try to get the best out of every slope," said the 36-year-old, who can now draw on a wealth of experience. "As a youngster, you push yourself to the limit in every race. With more experience, you try to ski more accurately and precisely."

The surprise man from an Italian perspective was Benjamin AlliodThe 26-year-old from Aosta achieved his best career result with fifth place. "I'm surprised, I didn't expect that. When I saw that I was fifth, I exploded with joy." Florian Schieder (9.) was also satisfied – albeit with reservations: “I showed that I can drive consistently. There were a few small mistakes. If I don't make these next week, I'll be even happier.”
