Perathoner races to the podium

With his first podium success in the European Cup, the young South Tyrolean skier Max Perathoner is causing a stir.

On Wednesday, Max Perathoner finished sixteenth in the European Cup downhill in Santa Caterina. But on Thursday, the Selva native achieved a remarkable success with second place in the second downhill. For him, this meant his first podium in the European Cup.

The 21-year-old has already shown that he can ski very quickly when he won two gold medals (Super-G and team) at the Junior World Championships in January. With such performances, it shouldn't be long before one of South Tyrol's great skiing hopes is regularly competing in the World Cup.

Felix Hacker from Austria won the downhill race with a lead of 0,16 seconds over the Val Gardena native. Third place went to Livio Hiltbrand (+0,30). With Nicolo Molteni (+0,44/5th place), Marco Abbruzzese (+0,71/8) and Benjamin Jaques Allios (+0,72), three other Azzurri also finished in the top ten.
