Peterlini is in danger of missing out on a World Cup final ticket.

Before the slalom in Åre (SWE), Martina Peterlini was ranked 23rd in the slalom standings. The top 25 athletes qualify for the World Cup Finals in Hafjell – but things didn't go well at all for the skier from Trentino in Åre.

A DNF in the first run is just about the worst thing that could have happened to Peterlini in Åre. The skier from Trentino crashed out in the upper section of the course, having struggled to find her rhythm from the start. Now the Italian has to sweat it out and hope that her rivals don't score too many points – so that she can still remain in the top 25 of the slalom standings despite her DNF.

The victory in Åre, however, went to Mikaela Shiffrin. The American led by around half a second ahead of Emma Aicher (GER/+0,51 seconds) and Katharina Truppe (AUT/+0,57). The best Italian was Lara Della Mea, who lost almost two seconds to Shiffrin.

The second round in Aare starts at 12:30 pm. SportNews Follow the race with a live ticker.
