Will Shiffrin finally break through in giant slalom?

Shiffrin recently demonstrated her potential as a force to be reckoned with in giant slalom with her fourth-place finish at Kronplatz. The 30-year-old also showcased her familiar turns in Spindleruv Mlyn and was pleased with her performance. Starting with bib number 14, Shiffrin finished fourth in the first run.
The gap to the halftime leader, Sweden's Sara Hector, is "only" 43 hundredths of a second. The final (starting at 1:30 p.m. in the SportNewsThe race (live ticker) should be exciting, as Switzerland's Camille Rast (+0,02 seconds) and Austria's Julia Scheib (+0,26) are also lurking behind Hector. The best Italian skier at the moment is Lara Della Mea in eighth place.
Anna Trockener is unlucky
From a South Tyrolean perspective, 17-year-old Anna Trocker from Völs missed her first-ever qualification for the second run by just ten hundredths of a second, finishing 31st. She had already come within 0,22 seconds of qualifying in her debut race in Semmering. But if she continues like this, her first World Cup points should only be a matter of time. Laura Steinmair (41st) from Olang, on the other hand, clearly missed out on the final.Edit Profile
