In a year brimming with highlights, a Swiss ski champion now gets the cherry on top.

The year 2026 holds one highlight after another for Loic Meillard. The crowning achievement came at the end of May: The Swiss slalom hero became a father for the first time. His wife Zoé gave birth to a girl a few days ago. "Welcome home, little girl," Meillard wrote on Instagram, announcing the baby news.

The joyous events are piling up for Meillard. The year 2026 already started with a real bang when the 29-year-old crowned himself Olympic slalom champion in Bormio – thus definitively becoming a hero of the proud Swiss skiing nation. This was also because he had already won World Championship gold the year before.

After the season came the next highlight when Meillard married his longtime girlfriend, Zoé Chastan. Zoé is also active in the Ski World Cup: In recent years, she served as press officer for the Swiss ski team and is therefore always by Loic's side. Now the ski couple is celebrating the arrival of their first child.
