Mysterious Posting: Lindsey Vonn Fuels Rumors

Last week, a report in the Swiss tabloid View caused a great stir. According to reports, Lindsey Vonn is planning a comeback in the World Cup - at 39 years old and with an artificial knee joint that was only fitted in the spring of this year. The 82-time World Cup winner has not yet commented on the matter, but with her latest post on Instagram, the US lady has got the rumor mill going.

"Every day is a victory!" Vonn writes in a photo of her ice bathing in New Zealand - where she has been skiing in recent days, as videos on her account show. "I am proud of how far I have come in my life. I have experienced many ups and downs, but nothing has broken my spirit. I thank my mother for that."

After that, it gets cryptic. "My new knee is now a part of me. I feel like a whole new chapter is opening before my eyes," Vonn writes. Is this chapter about the comeback? The 39-year-old doesn't elaborate, but writes: "Doing the things you love is truly a blessing and I don't take it for granted. I don't know exactly what lies ahead, but I know I'm healthy, happy and grateful."
