Rast ends Shiffrin's winning streak
In an incredibly exciting final in Kranjska Gora (SLO), Switzerland's Camille Rast broke Mikaela Shiffrin's winning streak. For the first time this winter, the American didn't finish on the top step of the podium in a slalom.

Shiffrin had won six slaloms in a row (five this winter, one from last season). Now the American's winning streak is over. Rast overtook Shiffrin by 14 hundredths of a second in a thrilling slalom final in Kranjska Gora, celebrating a one-two finish on Slovenian snow.
The Swiss woman is not really in the mood to celebrate. Rast lives in Sion, only about half an hour from Crans Montana, where 40 young people lost their lives in a bar on New Year's Eve. As he did in Saturday's giant slalom, Rast also wore a black armband in Sunday's slalom.
Della Mea with best career result

Lara Della Mea, from Tarvisio on the Slovenian border, achieved her best career result in slalom with sixth place. Previously, the Italian women's best finish had been eighth. Martina Peterlini (10th) and Giulia Valleriani (18th) rounded out the strong showing for the Italian team. Beatrice Sola (26th) and Emilia Mondinelli (27th) also scored points for Italy. Remarkably, all five Italian women improved their times in the second run.Edit Profile
