Once again her skiing heart breaks into a thousand pieces

After the best season of her career, a Swiss downhill skier had to swallow a very bitter pill.

Not again! That must have been going through the mind of Swiss speed specialist Livia Rossi when she participated in an FIS race at the end of the season, crashed, and suffered another serious leg injury. "This is definitely not the end of the season I was hoping for. After a crash in the downhill, I broke parts of my foot and had to undergo surgery. Now I need time to heal – physically and mentally," Rossi wrote on Instagram.

Livia Rossi's skiing heart is broken – again! The Swiss skier has struggled with injuries so often over the past two years. She missed the entire 2023/24 season due to a broken ankle, and had previously been sidelined by a concussion. Now, the broken foot has overshadowed her strong comeback season.

"After all the injuries of the past few years, I was finally able to compete again this season. I've regained my confidence in skiing, and the racing feeling has given me incredible joy. It was the best winter of my career, and I'm really proud of my comeback season," said Rossi, who even qualified for the World Cup with strong results in the European Cup and competed in three races in Kvitfjell.

Now comes the next injury shock. "It's hard to accept that I'm battling another injury and have to go to rehab again – but I'll fight my way back!" the 23-year-old says, already looking to the future.
