Unlucky Swiss skier returns to old love

While many ski stars relax on vacation, an athlete from Switzerland caused a stir with an announcement.

She is a skier who has suffered more in her career than few others. Aline Danioth has already torn her cruciate ligament in her knee four times, most recently in March 2023. After this new serious injury, some probably thought that that was it for the 26-year-old slalom specialist. But Danioth wants to get back up again even after this setback.

In any case, the technician should have plenty of new motivation. Because with a brand change, Danioth wants to establish herself in the world class - i.e. where she has tasted time and again, like with 6th place at the 2023 World Cup in Méribel. The Swiss has been using Stöckli skis for six years, and is now returning to her old love and will be hitting the slopes with Head skis in the future. Danioth announced this on Instagram on Thursday.

“I’m a rebel again,” Danioth wrote to her fans. “I'm really excited to be able to start again with the equipment that started the whole journey.” This means the 26-year-old is ready for another comeback. Last winter, Danioth decided not to race and instead worked on her physique. But soon it will be time for World Cup races again.
