Seriously injured: Forced break for Italian ski talent
Following her training crash in Toblach, there is sad certainty: Giada D'Antonio has suffered a serious injury and will be out for the rest of the season.

The day before the Olympic giant slalom, Italy's women's team trained in Toblach. Although she will not be competing in this discipline in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Giada D'Antonio also participated in the training session. During the session, she suffered a serious fall: the 16-year-old missed a gate and was taken to the hospital with a suspected torn cruciate ligament. Late that evening, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) confirmed the serious injury.
For the southern Italian skier, the Olympic Games – and also her first season at the senior level – came to an abrupt end. D'Antonio was scheduled to compete in the slalom next Wednesday after being eliminated from the team event.

D'Antonio started the season in the FIS category but made her World Cup debut in December. However, she failed to score any points in three races. A small slalom team
