Shiffrin excels, Trockener displays talent

Everything was as usual at the last women's slalom of the 2025/26 Ski World Cup season. However, there is positive news from a South Tyrolean perspective: Junior World Champion Anna Trocker gave a demonstration of her talent.

In addition to the best slalom skiers of the current season, the Junior World Champion in each discipline is also eligible to start at the World Cup Finals. In slalom, this is Anna Trocker from Völs am Schlern. The 17-year-old from South Tyrol delivered a convincing performance in the first run in Kvitfjell, finishing in 15th place (+3,01 seconds). This made Trocker by far the best Italian skier, as Lara Della Mea (21st) was over four seconds behind.

Mikaela Shiffrin is in the lead, having delivered a dominant performance that underlined her status as the best slalom skier of our time. The American is 1,10 seconds ahead of Wendy Holdener (SUI). Behind them are Paula Moltzan (USA/+1,12) and Emma Aicher (GER/+1,38). The battle for the podium places is still open, but the fight for victory seems to be all down to Shiffrin.

The girlfriend of ski star Aleksander Aamodt Kilde has already secured the small crystal globe for the slalom World Cup. Shiffrin is also leading the overall World Cup standings, but theoretically still faces competition from Aicher. The second run in Kvitfjell starts at 1:30 p.m. – and might end with some World Cup points for the young Anna Trocker.
