Shiffrin and her “eternal Valentine love”: Finally reunited

The Olympic Games held a happy ending in store for Mikaela Shiffrin. Afterwards, America's gold medalist went straight to her true love.

The 2026 Winter Olympics were a wild ride for Mikaela Shiffrin. She initially became a tragic figure when she let a seemingly certain medal slip away in the team combined event. Then, the American skier transformed into a heroine, racing to gold in the slalom, finishing well ahead of the competition.

One person who was especially rooting for Mikaela was her fiancé, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde. The Norwegian skier, currently injured, couldn't be there to support his sweetheart, but showered her with praise on social media. "You showed the world who the queen is," Kilde wrote after Shiffrin's gold medal triumph.

Shiffrin and Kilde also trained together.

The dream couple is reunited. As Shiffrin showed on Instagram, she and Aleks are currently enjoying some quality time together. They certainly weren't lacking in fun: In one video, Shiffrin goofed around in the kitchen while Aleks prepared breakfast. The skiing power couple also treated themselves to face masks, and of course, a joint workout was a must.

"Time with my eternal Valentine, rest, good food, training," wrote the overjoyed Shiffrin, alluding to Valentine's Day (February 14th), which the two couldn't spend together due to the Olympics. "What more could a girl want as the racing season draws to a close?" It's clear: Shiffrin is on cloud nine – both professionally and personally.
